It’s Monday again. Most of the time, that’s not necessarily a good thing.
But today, I’m excited. I like being busy. I don’t like sitting around with nothing to do.
Today, I have plenty to do.
It started early this morning. Sure, it was actually 8:30, but that’s early enough for me. While I sometimes make it to the office that early, a lot of times I’m not necessarily “with it” that early.
On this day, I had an interview with Maritza Arauz, who is from Nicaragua. As part of our diversity series, we each take turns to write this weekly feature.
Maritza was a great interview. She is learning English, but she isn’t comfortable enough to do an interview one-on-one, so I had an translator. It was the second time I’ve done an interview through an translator, and this time I was much more comfortable.
The best part of this series is getting to know people around town and learning where they came from.
Maritza is from Nicaragua, but is now an American citizen. She is learning English, owns a business (El Horizonte) in town and her and her husband bought a house in Worthington. She is truly living the American dream.
Shortly, I have another interview for an annual report story, which I’m looking forward to.
Tonight is another YMCA basketball team, so needless to say, it’s a busy day for this guy.
