Happy Monday and some fashion advice

Normally, being Monday isn’t something to be excited about. In fact, most of the time, it’s the most dreaded day of the week.

I would have to disagree.

The way I look at it is like this: Monday is a fresh start.

No matter what you did last week, you have a chance to be better this time around. If last week didn’t go exactly the way it was supposed to, now is the time to make changes.

So, I’m looking forward to this week, and today was that fresh start I needed.

Nothing really terrible happened last week. By all accounts, it was a fun and productive week. It just got off to a rough start. A week ago at this time, I was still at home, lying on my couch, sick as I could be.

So being in the office on this Monday morning is OK with me.

On a side note, I never thought this would turn into a fashion blog. But alas, I must make a comment on my boss, Ryan McGaughey.

If you read Julie’s blog last week, Ryan wore a plaid shirt to the office. Well, I proceeded to give him a hard time, making farmer jokes all day. I believe around 4 p.m. I asked him it was time for chores.

Well, today, he is wearing the same shirt.

But today, he has on a vest. It’s amazing what a difference a vest makes.

So that’s my advice on fashion for today. If you’ve ever seen the way I dress, I’m probably the last person who should be giving advice. But here goes: If you’re going to wear a farm-inspired shirt, put on a vest.

I would love to see a picture of this game-changing vest! I have a hard time believing a vest makes too much of a difference…then again, I’m the last person to be giving fashion advice :)

I enjoy reading about these goings-on at the Globe. Sounds like you all have a lot of fun there!

We do have a lot of fun here. Sometimes a little too much fun. But I’ll take responsibility for some of that.

The question here is: If neither of us are supposed to be giving fashion advice, who should?
