I do not like heights.
I never have. And I probably never will.
I don’t do roller coasters. Or hot air balloons. And only recently did I get on an airplane.
So when it was recently suggested I go on top of Okabena Towers a few blocks from the Globe office, I was a little hesitant.
We were looking for a new photo for the Daily Globe Facebook page and we thought an aerial view of Worthington would be pretty fun.
Since we didn’t have the aforementioned balloon, photographer Brian Korthals and I went to the tallest building we could think of.
The manager was kind enough to take us to the roof, where Brian did his magic. I took a photo and posted it online and I recently posted a video from up there.
But I didn’t get too close to the edge. I was OK in the middle of the roof. But that was good enough. I didn’t need to get to the edge and look down.
And next time we need an aerial shot, I think Brian will be able to handle it by himself.
