Are bath mats supposed to turn black?

I’m not a home expert by any means.

Is this normal?

I don’t know much about fixing things.

But I’m pretty confident bath mats aren’t supposed to turn black.

I started with a beige mat. Now, it is turning black in some areas.

Again, I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure that’s mold. Or mildew. Or something else I don’t even want to know about.

I’m not 100% sure when I even bought that mat. I’ve used it at least once, if not twice, everyday during that span. I’ve lived in my apartment for almost five years. It could be original.

But I’m thinking it’s time for a new one.

My bathmat and I have been through some good times together. It’s seen the best of me, and the worst.

It’s there to greet me every morning. And it says, “Come on in and relax” after a workout at the YMCA.

It’s been a constant in my life. But like all good things, it must come to an end.

Today, a new chapter begins.

One that is hopefully mold free.

This is quite possibly the grossest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I can’t believe you posted a picture! How did you even let it get that bad?!

That’s the grossest thing you’ve seen? I feel like you’ve lived a sheltered life. And of course I have to post a picture, that way people can see what I’m talking about. It’s all about visuals… And I have no idea how it got that bad. I just kind of realized it the other day and decided it was time for a new one
