That’s right, it doesn’t matter.
It might to someone else, but it sure doesn’t make a difference.
Of course, I’m talking about the size of mattresses.
I had a couple days off this week, where I was able to go and see a good friend and my parents all in the same trip.
Well, I slept in three different places in three nights. And each time, I was on a different sized bed.
The first night, I was at my friend’s place. He is a former college roommate, and a great friend. I was fortunate this past week. I have been able to see two of my best friends — within two days. I hadn’t seen either of them since last fall, so it was great to catch up.
After a weekend with Mark, I traveled to Scott’s on Monday night.
Scott lives in Ely, Iowa. Which is odd, I have now been in two different towns called Ely — in two different states. Scott and his wife, Erin, recently built a new house. Fortunately, they have a guest room. So I was able to have my own room.
In that room was a queen bed.
That was Night 1.
The second night was at my parents’ place.
I hadn’t been to their house since Christmas, so I figured it was time to head back that way. I was able to get some good home cooking, do some laundry and even play some golf. Dad and I have played more rounds of golf than I can count, but each time is just a blast. It was the first time on the course for either of us this season. I finished with a 39 (on a par 35), so I was pretty happy about that. Of course, on the first hole, my dad chips one in from the rough just off the green.
Since I moved out of my parents house in the summer of 2007, my room has drastically changed. All that’s left is a few of my personal items and a single bed.
So Night 2 was spent in a single bed.
That moves me until last night. I returned home late Wednesday night.
It didn’t take me too long to get into my own bed.
So Night 3 was spent in my own bed — which is a double. Because of the stairs leading into my apartment, I can’t fit anything bigger than a double. So, I’ve learned to love my double bed.
In three nights, I slept in a queen bed, a single bed and a double bed.
Three nights, three different sizes.
And no, size didn’t matter.
I slept just as well in each bed. Each bed works just as well, no matter what the size.
You are wrong, wrong, wrong about this! This is one case where size absolutely matters. I don’t even know how you slept in a twin bed. It is SO uncomfortable. I have a full bed too, but my parents bought a queen bed for my room after I moved out and when I go home it is crazy how much difference it makes.
Just to prove you’re wrong, I found this article on mattress guidelines

A twin bed was actually very comfortable. I’m not one of those people who thrash around while I sleep. I think it’s about how comfortable the bed is, not the actual size of it
mattress size does matter. When you are married, you will learn that a king size is best. And what I want to know is how did you manage to get days off when you were supposed to be working night duty for me?
Awww… You still think I have a chance to get married? That makes me happy. And, I switched with Ana. She worked on Wednesday and I took her Friday. So it all worked out very well
Twin beds are great because it takes less space compared to regular double decker beds. I always use them in our apartment. ‘`,”"
