Apparently, the Twins didn’t want to risk it this time.
I have been to three Minnesota Twins games this season so far. They are 0-3 during those games.
Of course, they are exactly lighting the world on fire when I’m not around, but that’s another story.
I had tickets to go to the game on Saturday. The Royals were in town, and I’ve acquired a soft spot in my heart for the Royals. I won’t say I’m a Kansas City fan, but I’ve been to enough games to not mind watching them.
Sports editor Chris Murphy was celebrating his birthday during the weekend and had a few of his friends fly in from Chicago. Part of the festivities included the game on Saturday.
But that game never happened.
When we woke up, it was raining. And it didn’t stop.
Until later in the afternoon.
I’m sure they could have gotten the game in with a 7 p.m. start, but the game had long been cancelled.
This is why you need a roof.
We didn’t let it ruin our day — or weekend — but it was disappointing.
Sure, we can use our tickets for the make-up game, which is part of a doubleheader on June 30. But I’m supposed to work that weekend, so that will definitely put a damper on my chances of going to see that game.
And who knows, maybe it will rain that day, too.
