As a single guy, I’m always drawn to reading the funny articles on dating.
My homepage is MSN, and it seems like they always have something about dating.
Sometimes it’s something like first date ideas, or the ever popular “What she wishes you knew.”
Are they supposed to be serious? Probably. Does anyone take them seriously? Probably not.
But I always skim through them. I don’t think they’ve taught me anything (since I am still single after all), but I suppose you never know when you might find that one golden nugget of advice.
One thing we’re trying at the Daily Globe is to get more community involvement. The way we’re trying to do that is through blogs.
It didn’t take me long to come up with what I thought would be a great idea, “What if the Daily Globe had a dating blog?”
It could talk about the hot spots in southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa. It could give advice on the best way to get a phone number, how long to wait until you do something with that number and how to make sure a first date turned into a second.
But alas, my attempts to find someone to write a blog like that have failed. If this is something you’d like to try, I’d love to hear from you.
And I’m surely not the person to write something like that. Considering I’m single, have absolutely zero game with the ladies and generally am just unlucky, I wouldn’t even know where to begin.
To be honest, the best advice I would give to girls would be this: Just date the Community Content Coordinator at the Daily Globe.
To the guys: Good luck. You’re on your own.
