Happy Valentine’s Day!
I hope it was filled with those you love. Even if you aren’t in a serious relationship, or generally don’t buy the idea of Valentine’s Day, I wish for your life to be filled with love.
It wasn’t that long ago, I didn’t buy the whole Valentine’s thing.
I wasn’t in a relationship and didn’t have that “special someone” in my life.
But 2013 is a year of new things for me. And for that, I’m thankful.
July 27, 2012 proved to be an important day in my life. It was the day I met Kelsey Colleen Hubert.
I think we’d both admit, it was a strange first meeting. We hadn’t met in person before. Rather, all we had was a few messages on Facebook and a couple texts.
Little did I know, my life would be forever changed.
It wasn’t long after — September 17 to be exact — that I asked her to be my girlfriend. It was actually the second time I asked, but the first time she said yes.
For full disclosure, it wasn’t like she said no. She just didn’t say yes.
And from that moment on, she has changed my life.
It might be cliche, but she makes me want to be a better person.
In just a few short months, it seems like we have grown together, and gotten to know each other better and better each day.
She can bring light on dark days. She can make the troubles of the world seem irrelevant. She makes the good times that much better.
That’s how I know I am in love.
And it’s the type of love that will last forever.
On Valentine’s Days before, I didn’t know what I was missing. It was just February 14.
Now, it’s a day to appreciate all the love I have in my life.
It’s a day to love and appreciate Kelsey Hubert.
