About me

By Aaron Hagen

Who am I?

Before you ask, no, I don't always wear a tie to work

Well, if you’re reading this, you must care about the answer to that question.

I believe to find out who a person is, you must first figure out where they came from.

I was born in a small town in South Dakota. So small, in fact, that the hospital where I was born is no longer standing.

I’ve lived in Irene (South Dakota), Soldier (Iowa), Newell (Iowa) and Lake Mills (Iowa). I graduated from Newell-Fonda High School. I attended college at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa with a degree in mass communications. And I’ve been in Worthington since June 2007. I started as a sports reporter, advanced to the sports editor and currently, I am the community content coordinator.

So, that’s where I came from. But that doesn’t answer the fundamental question.

Who am I really?

I’m goofy. I’m a little off the wall. I enjoy making people laugh — either with me or at me. I love sports. Always have and always will. I play too many video games for a late-20-something-year-old. I like to stay out late and sleep in. I love breakfast food, but not the time people traditionally eat it. I hate toast and the change you get when things don’t cost an even dollar. I very much enjoy Captain Morgan and drinking it with friends. I’m not an expert on anything, but I know a little about a lot of things. I like learning, which makes it fun for me to meet new people and learn about them.

I’m just a single guy trying to make it in this big world.
